How are these starbursts all, or nearly all, the same? What are some of the differences that give the starbursts interest? Which starburst shape is best to use to highlight something important? Why do you think that? Which starburst shape is best for displaying a price? Why do you think that? Which starburst is best used for decorative purposes? Why do you think that? Which starburst shape appeals to you the most? Why do you think that? Where do we use starbursts? Can you tell me about any starbursts in the school? What is it used for? in the community? What is it used for? What meaning might they convey? Can you describe a starburst shape that is not shown on this activity sheet? Direct students to carry out the task. Move around the class and ask: (Reflection) Have you thought of many/some/a few/no different starburst shapes? Which starburst shapes are your most creative? Why do you think that? What do all of the starbursts you have drawn have in common with the starbursts on the activity sheet? Do you have a starburst that is very different from every other starburst? Why do you think that? Do you have any starbursts that are quite similar to each other? Why do you think that?... Bring students together on several occasions to share ideas.
