- Direct students to the first pattern and ask: What shape is used to create this pattern? How is the position of the shape changed each time to create the pattern?
- Repeat for several more patterns.
- Direct students to carry out the task.
- Move around the room and ask: (Reflection) What shape did you use to create this pattern? Can you tell me how you changed the position of the shape each time to create the pattern?
