Lesson Notes
  • Direct students to the activity on the overhead and ask: How would you start to draw this same line pattern in the empty square? Why do you think that? Do you agree/disagree?
  • Ask: What would you do next? ? Why do you think that? Do you agree/disagree? ... Continue working as a whole class until the line pattern is complete on the overhead.
  • Direct students to their activity sheet and ask: Can you draw the line pattern inside the square?
  • Share responses. Ask: (Reflection) How could you check to see if both line patterns are exactly the same? (Fold and match. Cut out and match.)
  • Repeat for the other shapes.
