  • Provide children with a copy of both activity sheets.
  • Ask: What do you need to do in Task 1? Can you think of a small piece of furniture? List children's suggestions on the board.
  • Say: In these tasks you can make a list of ideas or you can draw your ideas.
  • Direct children to carry out each task.
  • Several times during the activity bring groups of children together to share their ideas. Ask: Do you agree with ...'s idea? Do you already have that idea? Can you add that idea to your list? How many ideas do you have in your list? Does anyone else have that many ideas? Have you thought about furniture in all rooms in the house?
  • Provide the opportunity for children to share ideas from around the class. Ask: Did you hear any good ideas to add to one of your lists? Can you tell me who gave you the good idea?
  • Ask: Can you think of other things that can be both large and small?
