| Resources | Access to objects such as sporting equipment, books, stationery items, boxes, blocks, coins, fruit ... most of which will stack. |
| Lesson Notes | - Provide children with a copy of the activity sheet. Ask: What do you know about objects that will stack? What do most objects that stack look like? What do you know about objects that won't stack? How do we use objects that stack? Can you see any objects stacked in this room? Can you think of any objects stacked at home?
- Direct children to the activity sheet and say: I want you to find objects in this room that you think will stack. When you agree with your partner that the object will stack I want you to record each find as a picture.
- Provide the opportunity for pairs to share their ideas and then repeat for objects that won't stack.
|
| Reflections | Ask: How are objects that stack useful? Do you think the objects that stack are easier or harder to find than objects that don't stack?
