| Lesson Notes | - Direct students to the task and ask: What do you know about volume, capacity and mass? Briefly discuss several ideas as a class. Following the discussion explain to students that they can write or draw as many ideas and questions about volume, capacity and mass on the activity sheet as they can in 10 minutes. They then share their ideas and questions with their group and add any new ideas and questions they hear in the group to their activity sheet. These will then be shared as a class.
- Direct students to write ideas and questions of their own.
- Place students into small groups to share ideas and questions. Remind students to add any good ideas and questions they hear to their own list.
- Provide the opportunity to share ideas and questions as a class.
