  • Provide groups with a copy of the activity sheet and ask: What do you need to find out? What do you think will happen?
  • Tick what you think will happen.
  • Ask: What information do we need? How can we collect the information? How many different fruits should we check? How could we use this activity sheet to record information? Are you ready to carry out the task?
  • Direct groups to carry out the task.
  • Move around the groups and ask: What have you found so far? What have you recorded? What do you think you will find out? Are you working sensibly with the water and fruit? Are you ready to tell others what you have found out?
  • Provide groups with the opportunity to share findings around the class.
