| Lesson Notes | - Children require the opportunity to freely play with and explore the capacity of different containers.
- To carry out this activity it will be necessary to work with small groups of children in a water-play tub.
- Select the containers in Task 1 and ask: Which container holds more? Children look at and handle the 2 containers before estimating which will hold more.
- Ask: How can we find out which container holds more? (Pouring from one to the other.)
- Direct children to carry out the activity and 'check' their finding on the table in Task 1.
- Repeat for Task 2 - 4.
