- Direct children to Task 1 and ask: Some of these cars need to be coloured. Which cars need to be coloured? How many cars will you colour? How many cars will not be coloured?
- Direct children to colour the small cars.
- Ask: Which cars did you colour? How many cars did you colour? How many cars are not coloured?
- Read the story number sentence with the children.
- Repeat for Task 2.
- Direct children to complete Task 3. Share responses.
- Provide children with a copy of activity sheet B.
- Direct children to Task 4 and ask: We need to draw some toothbrushes. How many toothbrushes do we draw? Direct children to draw 9 toothbrushes.
- Say: Now I want you to colour some of the toothbrushes. How many toothbrushes will you colour?
- Ask: How many toothbrushes have you coloured? How many are not coloured?
- Direct children to the recording boxes and ask: What is missing in the first sentence? Second sentence? Third sentence?
- Repeat for Task 5.
