- Observe efforts to visualise and organise their problem solving into an inquiry process (Strategy-procedure, Working-calculations, Finding-verify).
- Conduct whole class discussion of methods and findings so students are using large numbers in context. Conclude with a 'best' strategy agreement.
- Ask students to write several similar investigations such as: "How many hours did the world's oldest person live for?
- How many minutes old will I be on my next birthday? How old was I when I passed 1 000 000 minutes? 100 000 seconds?
