Lesson Notes
  • In groups students share (from Activity 002) and record (on Activity 003) information about their families.
  • Encourage students to ask the questions in turn: How many adults are in your family? How many children are in your family?...
  • Meet as a whole class and ask general questions such as: How are families the same? How are they different? Is there a 'best' number of people in a family?
  • Ask the students to think of new questions we could ask about our families: How many cars are in a family? How many males and females are in a family? How many ...
  • Students could create a new family questionnaire using the term 'how many...' for each question. See also Internet Links below.
  • Collect student Activity sheets. Go to Activity 004.
ReflectionsDo you have all the information for 4 families? What are some of the things you have learned about other families?
