Use Search Options 1 and 2

The Search Options

  • Select from Search Option 1, Search Option 2 and Quick Search (see details on each Option below).
  • Search Option 1 is structured as a set of Year/Grade Contents Pages based on the organisers used in your Curriculum of choice.
  • Search Option 2 is structured as a set of drop-down menu selections based on the organisers used in your Curriculum of choice. Select Search Option 2 where you wish to search the database across multiple Years/Grades.
  • Quick Search allows the User to search the database using mathematics keywords (such as rounding) or an activity title (such as My Numbers).

Search Option 1

  • This search option is similar to using Contents Pages for a textbook.
  • The Contents Pages are based on the structure of your Curriculum of choice.
  • The activities corresponding to each item of Content are listed across the page in numerical order.
  • To view the activities click on any activity title.
  • The activity selected is loaded onscreen in a picture viewer.
  • NOTE: You can select to view in Portrait (black and white) view or Landscape (colour) view. 'Check' Portrait or Landscape located above the Contents.
  • You can see the other activities in the list by clicking on the forward or back arrows at the top right of the picture viewer.
  • You can print (as PDF or Word doc) or Bookmark any activity as you click through them.
  • To view the Teacher Notes (only available in Portrait view) click on the Teacher Notes tab.
  • Note (1) The Teacher Notes also contain the interactive weblinks available to support each activity.
  • Note (2) The printed version of the Contents Page is very useful as a programming/planning document.

Search Option 2

  • This search option is a set of drop-down menu selections based on the organisers from your Curriculum of choice (usually termed strand, sub-strand and topic).
  • Begin by selecting a single Year/Grade or, for a more developmental approach, multiple Years/Grades.
  • Move the cursor over any Content strand to see the sub-strand selections available.
  • Click on any sub-strand to see the associated topics for that sub-strand.
  • Click on a topic to list the activities in the database to match your strand/sub-strand/topic criteria
  • To view the activities click on any activity title in your list.
  • The activity is loaded onscreen in a picture viewer as described above.
  • NOTE: You can select to view in Portrait (black and white) view or Landscape (colour) view. 'Check' Portrait or Landscape located above the drop-down menus.
  • The Title box is available to conduct a search based on a mathematical term (such as fractions, rounding...) or title for an activity. See Quick Search below for more suggestions on using this feature.

Quick Search

  • Quick Search is located on the Home Page and is available immediately you login.
  • Enter the Year/Grade you want to search. You can select multiple Year/Grades by holding down the CTRL key.
  • Use the textbox provided to type in a mathematical term or ‘keyword’, e.g. rounding.
  • Click Apply to see the results of your search, i.e. a list of activities titles you can click on to view/download as described above.
  • Note (1) Quick Search provides convenience and speed – but may achieve more general results than either Search Option 1 or Search Option 2.

Recording Activities Used

  • Each time you download or Bookmark an activity it is highlighted in green on the relevant Year/Grade Contents Page.
  • To remove the green highlight, right click TWICE on the activity on the Contents Page.
  • If 3 or more activities on a single topic are highlighted as downloaded or bookmarked the whole topic is highlighted in green to indicate a substantial amount of work has been programmed in that mathematical area.
