Use My Planner

    What Is My Planner?

  • In My Planner you can create and organise daily lessons by linking Activities you have Bookmarked to lesson dates on a calendar.

  • You can also use the 'Notes' box to enter lesson ideas and/or formative assessment comments on student performance in the lesson.

  • This is a great way to maintain continuity of learning for targetted students when you come back to the same mathematical knowledge or skills.

    1. Using My Planner

  • My Planner works in conjunction with My Bookmarks - see Use My Bookmarks in How To.

  • Once you have one or more activities bookmarked for a lesson or lessons, click on My Planner on the menu at the left.

  • Click on +Add Lesson.

  • Use the 'check' boxes to confirm your bookmarked activity or activities you want to link to a daily lesson.

  • Give the lesson a Title (e.g. Fractions of Sets) then you enter a date for the lesson (the lesson Title is shown on that date on the calendar).

  • Enter any personal lesson notes, including any web URL's (copy and paste them). These will also be shown on that date on the calendar. Your lesson notes can be printed at any time from the calendar (see below).

  • You can also come back to the lesson notes and add in any assessment comments or future lesson planning comments for post-planning.

  • Below the Lesson Notes you have the option of attaching files (DOCs, PDFs and JPGs) to the lesson. These could be files of activities you have created yourself and have housed on your computer.
  • Click Save.

    2. Viewing, Editing, Printing, Deleting Pre-Planned Lessons

  • To view your pre-planned lessons at any time, go to My Planner and click on the lesson on the calendar.

  • A pop-up window provides (1) links for viewing, editing, printing (in Word or PDF) and deleting activities, (2) Your Lesson Notes and (3) a (PDF) link for printing your lesson notes.

    3. Moving Lessons to a Different Date

  • To move a lesson to a different date on the calendar just click and hold on the lesson title and drag it to the new date.

    4. Printing Calendar by Month

  • To print your Calendar of lessons for a month, use your PrtScn key.

    5. Linking Your Personal Activities to a Lesson

  • Any lessons you create in Word, Adobe pdf, Publisher etc can be linked to a lesson.
  • As well, any MTSonline activities you download and customize, can be linked to a lesson.
  • To do this, click on the Browse link below the Lesson Notes text box.
  • Use Explore (Windows) to browse for the activity you have on your computer, click on the activity, click Open and click Upload.
  • You can link a number of activities to any one lesson, or one activity to many lessons.
  • Click Save and the activity link will appear in the blue lesson box when you click on it.
