Viewing the Teacher Notes

The Teacher Notes provided with each Student Activity are a key element of the successful use of MTSonline.

 

1. To view the Teacher Notes click on either of the Search Options.

2. Note that the Teacher Notes house the IWB interactive links to match the Student Activity.

1. Make sure you have selected Portrait mode to view Activities and Teacher Notes.

1. Click on an Activity.

1. Click on the Teacher Notes tab.

1. All Teacher Notes provide the same level of supporting information about the Student Activity
1.1 Activity Outcome (the mathematical behaviour(s) you would like to see students demonstrate as a consequence of doing the activity).
1.2 How the Student Activity links to your selected Curriculum content.
1.3 Keywords or mathematical topics addressed in the Student Activity.
1.4 Grouping ideas for the teacher.
1.5 Resources that could be required in the lesson.
1.6 Lesson Notes are the key element of the Teacher Notes:
1.61 Follow the steps to carry out the lesson.
1.62 The italicised text provides the focus questions for the lesson.
1.63 The focus questions engage students in mathematical thinking relevant to the Student Outcome.

1.7 Reflections provide the opportunity for teachers to engage students in goal setting and reflective learning.
1.71 Reflections are provided for every lesson either here or in the Student Activity itself.
1.72 See also Reflective Learning in the MTS Features menu.
1.8 Internet Links are provided to enhance opportunities for students to demonstrate the Activity Outcome.
