MTSonline is a comprehensive database that includes:

• More than 3000 mathematics Activities for years 1-7 (5-13 year old students)
• A structure based on, and compatible with, all contemporary AUS, NZ and UK mathematics curriculums
• The flexibility to choose the mathematics curriculum through which you can search the database
• The ability to select Activities from any year level for any student(s) to meet any needs
• The opportunity to select Activities on any mathematics topic to practise skills, develop concepts, apply ideas, make authentic investigations...

Teacher's Notes are provided with every Activity and include:

• Key questions to stimulate mathematical thinking, reasoning and communicating
• The key learning outcome (Main Idea) to focus formative assessment
• Teaching ideas to maximise learning opportunities from the Activity
• Links to many interactive websites to enhance the mathematical ideas inherent in the Activities (easily linked to electronic whiteboards)
• Answers

Two common themes that are seen throughout the database include:

• A strong focus on thinking and working mathematically
• Opportunities for reflective learning and self/peer assessment

The website has a number of features for teachers including:
• 4 x fast searchs function to list Activities in seconds (Main Search, Quick Keyword Search, Contents Page Search, Keyword Index Search). See How To menu for further information on these search options.
• Each search also provides links to Activities pitched at earlier and later year levels to enhance student-centred learning opportunities
• Each search also provides links to Activities incorporating the same mathematical concepts and skills
• A quick preview screen where you can load, view and compare multiple Activities at the same time
• My Bookmarks is a place where you can 'house' Activities you would like to return to or arrange into your own class mini-textbook
• My Planner where you can organise which Activities you will use and when (by linking them to dates on a Calendar)
• You can choose to download activities in MS Word or PDF to any computer at any time
• Once downloaded to your computer you can save the Activities and customize them in any way to better suit your needs
• You can also share customized Activities with interested colleagues (i.e. by email, schoolnet, thumbdrive etc)
